It allows to maintain a medical and life & disability cover which is essential for the financial security of the employees and their families.

It allows to maintain a medical and life & disability cover which is essential for the financial security of the employees and their families.

The portability of entitlements to the company medical program allows an employee who leaves his company to keep the same coverage (medical) as those he enjoyed within his company. This measure is applicable to employees who leave their company for various reasons, such as the end of their work contract, redundancy, or mutual termination. Resignation does not give the right to portability except in special cases.

To benefit from the portability of the company’s medical program rights, the employee must apply to his former employer within 6 months of the end of his work contract. This request must be accompanied by justification of the registration as a job seeker with the French unemployment administration (Pôle Emploi)

The period of portability of rights to the company medical program is limited to a period equivalent to the time the employee was affiliated to the company’s complementary social protection plan, with a maximum of 12 months. During this period, the employee continues to benefit from the same coverage as that offered by his former company, without having to pay contributions.
